Griot tracks PTO and Comp Time using special projects in your project list. Generally you will want to configure a PTO project and Comp Time project for each year. These projects should be set up to be non-billable, and applied to the "Fringe" labor cost pool.
Once you have created your projects, you will need to tell Griot that they are to be used to track PTO and Comp Time. Do this by clicking on the PTO Settings option on the People menu item.
The PTO Settings screen shows a list of all the years for which PTO rules have been set up, and the PTO and Comp Time projects used for each year (the first time you come into this screen, there won't be any years listed). Click on the Add New Year button to create a PTO project mapping for a year. After you have created PTO settings for a year you can click on the year link in the table if you need to update the configuration.
The PTO settings dialog is very simple - just enter the year you are creating the configuration for, and select the associated projects for PTO and Comp Time for that year. If you are not planning to use the Comp Time feature you can leave the selection for the Comp Project blank.
Once the projects have been mapped, your employees should see their current PTO or Comp Time balance on their timecards:
